March of the Treant
7-level Transmutation
Casting Time: 1 action
Range/Area: Touch
Components: V, S, M
Materials: a pouch of pipe-weed worth at least 150gp, consumed
Duration: Concentration, up to 1 hour
Your touch brings temporary life to a tree, transforming it
into a treant for the duration. The treant returns to being a
tree when it drops to 0 hit points or when the spell ends.
The treant created by this spell cannot use its Animate
Trees feature while you are concentrating on it.
The treant is friendly to you and your allies when it first
appears. Roll initiative the treant, which has its own turns.
As long as you or your companions do not do anything
contrary to the treant’s alignment or harm nature, it will
remain friendly and follow your commands (no action
required by you) for the duration. If given no commands, it
will attempt to aid you in any way it sees fit.
If you violate the treant’s alignment or harm nature, it
becomes hostile or refuses to help, depending on what you
did. Thereafter, this spell no longer requires concentration
and the treant makes a Wisdom saving throw at the start of
each of its turns. On a failed save, the treant must still
follow your commands until the start of its next turn. On a
successful save, the treant will no longer follow your
orders and could attack you or your allies.
If you cast this spell on the same tree every day for a year,
it becomes a treant permanently.
The DM has the treant’s statistics.
