Vermintide
9-level Conjuration
Casting Time: 1 action
Range/Area: Self (A 30-foot long, 15-foot wide, and 10-foot tall line)
Components: V, S, M
Materials: A wheel of spoiled cheese
Duration: Concentration, up to 10 minutes
You summon a chittering wave of bubonic vermin that
swarm over a surface in a 30-foot long, 15-foot wide, and
10-foot tall line in a direction of your choice. Each creature
caught in the wave must make a Dexterity saving throw.
On a failed save, a creature takes 25d4 piercing damage, is
knocked prone, and is moved to the end of the line. On a
successful save, it takes half as much damage and suffers
no other effects.
Objects that are not being worn or carried in the line take
25d4 piercing damage.
After the initial effects, 2d4+2 swarms of rats appear in
the spaces at the end of the spell’s range. The swarms of
rats roll their own initiative and follow your commands
(no action required by you). If given no commands, they
will attack the creature nearest them that took damage
from the initial wave.
The rat swarms add your spellcasting ability modifier to
their attack and damage rolls, deal magical piercing
damage, and add your level to their hit point maximum.
Finally, when you cast a spell with a range of touch, a
swarm of rats created by this spell can deliver that spell as
if it had cast it. The swarm must be within 100 feet of you,
and it must use its reaction to deliver the spell when you
cast it. If the spell requires an attack roll, you use your
attack modifier for the roll.
When reduced to 0 hit points or when the spell ends, a
swarm of rats disappears.
