I spent the day today learning about the lands we drifted above. Swarthyra is the home of the Secgens ruled by the Babar family in the southern Savanna. The “warm-bloods” have been at odds with the northern region generally populated but the “cold-bloods.” The Draconian empire struggled out as a dominant force in the Northern regions and vied for the total domination of Swarthyra. Though warring, Babar offered peace between the families in order to mitigate the losses and bring peace to the nation torn in two. It would seem that the Draconians that marched north to Lumber, were coming from the southern Bastion of Cold Bloods just north of Barbas. The truce talks appeared effective since Babar has recognized Castillo as Co-Regent of the nation.
The Lacertines have begun migrating north, leaving the Leporine, Faline, Pach-Men, and Kahneen banded together in the Savanna. Something that did strike me odd last night was that the emissaries sent with us appeared unaware of their present standings by the time, they left Trantor. The gems that they had provided apparently were seeing stones that emitted screams of the cursed as they were destroyed.
As we pass beyond the Woundwort boundary, I find myself exploring the libraries of Trantor as I had done so many times in Mantara. Books on climates, cultures, and curiosities of every kind. It would seem that the city that belongs to no country shares its knowledge with almost everybody.
Freya informed me that we are to make our way to Aeroas, the Primus City North East of Swarthyra. Tomorrow, I shall do some reading on the region and its mysteries. Today though, I worked on perfecting my ability to manipulate light. Though I cannot yet produce light, I find that I can concentrate and weave the magical tendrils to manifest light effects by disturbing the equilibrium of energies. Though I have memorized many constructed spells from my time in the library, I do find that this spiritual connection I have with the Weave may be getting easier to manipulate. I do wonder if disturbing the equilibrium at a grander scale would produce more devastating effects in the concentration or the void left behind. Experimentation will need to wait though as I believe I am certainly on my way to discover the true nature of light and darkness, life and death, existence and the void.
